As a consortium of payers, providers and vendors, NEHEN brings best practices to the healthcare industry for payer-provider transaction processing through business and technical solutions. As a member-owned organization, NEHEN emphasizes collaboration, a decentralized model, and a standards- based electronic healthcare data exchange.

NEHEN membership and co-ownership is open to payers and providers. Also, vendors, clearinghouses, agents, service providers, and others are invited to join as Contract Affiliates.

Lessons learned from prior implementations and leveraging of NEHEN's technology has allowed new members to get up and running in 3 to 10 weeks from start to finish.
